On February 15, the first meeting in 2023 of the interagency working group on Radioactive Waste Management, created under the chairmanship of the State Agency of Ukraine for Exclusion Zone Management, took place. The meeting was attended by representatives of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine, SAUEZM, SSE “CEMRW”, SSTC NRS, State Enterprise “National Nuclear Energy Generating Company “Energoatom”, SD of NPP SE “NNEGC “Energoatom”, KIEP, HIEP.
Issues and priority actions regarding the acceptance of radioactive waste from operating nuclear power plants to the existing storage facilities of the Vektor Complex were considered, and the measures indicated in Appendix 2 to the National Targeted Environmental Program for the Management of Radioactive Waste were discussed in detail.
