The radioactive waste disposal site “Pidlisniy” was created in 1986 during the implementation of priority measures to eliminate the consequences of the radiation accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The RWDS is a near-surface storage facility of a modular type, designed for the disposal of solid high-level radioactive waste.
